AWAKEN YOUR INNER HEALER

Learn the Art of Self-Healing Through Ayurveda & Yoga

Go beyond surface-level wellness. Learn to read your body's language, understand the root causes of dis-ease, and develop the wisdom to better support your own healing journey.

Wednesdays 3/4/26 - 4/15/26 | 1:00pm-2:30pm

Do you want to truly understand what your body is communicating?

You've tried cleanses, supplements, and wellness trends. Some help temporarily, but nothing seems to address what's really going on in your body.

What if you could:

  • Understand the root causes of your imbalances and common pathologies

  • Read the signs your body is constantly giving you (tongue, skin, face, digestion, energy)

  • Recognize which foods and practices support YOUR unique constitution

  • Cultivate the insight to make informed choices about your health

Healthwise Spring 2026 is an Ayurvedic deep dive for those ready to truly understand the art of self-healing, work intimately with the physical and energetic bodies, and develop the discernment to understand dis-ease at its roots.

✨You'll learn:

  • How digestion (agni) determines what becomes nourishment vs. accumulation (ama)

  • How the quality of your food and your digestion shapes your blood, tiasues, energy, mood, and hormones

  • The seven dhatus as a living map of how nourishment becomes structure, stability, vitality, and joy

  • How to recognize signs of depletion, stagnation, or excess in your own body through daily self-observation (lakshana)

  • How stress and quality of metabolism, sleep, and hormone pathways are reflected in different tissues over time

  • Simple Ayurvedic practices to support each tissue — from digestion and circulation to nervous system health and reproductive vitality

  • How imbalance develops gradually (samprapti) — and how to interrupt it before symptoms become chronic

  • How to cultivate resilience, confidence, and trust in your body’s innate capacity to heal

✨ Reclaim your health. Discover what truly sustains you.✨

Join us for Healthwise Spring 2026 and begin a journey that honors your whole self.

Curriculum

✨ Your 7-Week Journey to Radiance Through the Dhatus✨

In this 7-week journey, we explore how digestion transforms food and experience into the seven tissues (dhatus) that build your body, energy, and vitality. By understanding how these tissues form—and how imbalance begins—you’ll learn to read your body’s signs and interrupt dis-ease at its root.

Class 1 — Agni (digestive fire), Ama (toxic morbid waste) & How Food Becomes You

What you’ll learn:

  • The concepts and importance of agni & ama.

  • Why digestion matters just as much as what we eat, if not more so.

  • An introduction to the seven tissues of the body.

  • A basic introduction to the first tissue formed in the body: rasa or the plasma/lymph.

  • How to observe the tongue in relation to agni, ama, and rasa.

Class 2 — Rasa & Rakta The Plasma/Lymph and the Blood: Building Faith, Nourishment, and Confidence.

What you’ll learn:

  • The physical and emotional significance of rasa, the plasma or lymph, and rakta, the blood.

  • Signs of depletion vs. stagnation vs. excess in these tissues and what we can do Ayurvedically using food and lifestyle.

  • How to examine the quality of these tissues in relation to the skin, tongue, eyes, and emotions.

Class 3 — Mamsa & Meda Dhatu, Muscle and Adipose Tissue: Stability, Storage & Metabolism

  • The functions of muscle and adipose tissue in the body, physically and psychologically.

  • Meda or adipose tissue as a form of love.

  • Doshic tendencies in relation to how we store and burn fat as well as build muscle.

  • The role of insulin, glucagon, and exercise in metabolism and energy and their effect on these tissues.

  • Why eating healthy fats and protein is so important.

  • How to perform abhyanga or self-massage.

Class 4 — Asthi Dhatu, Bone Tissue: Stability, Boundaries & Longevity

  • The role asthi plays for us at the physical and mental/emotional levels.

  • The significance of the bones in relation to Vata dosha and the aging process.

  • The connection between colon health and the health of our bones.

  • How our bones relate to our ancestors.

  • Signs and symptoms of imbalances in the bone tissue, including the joints, teeth, and hair.

  • Foods and exercises that support healthy bones.

Class 5 — Majja Dhatu, Bone Marrow: The Nervous System, Depth & Repletion

  • Majja or bone marrow + nerve tissue and its role in sleep, energy, creativity, and mental clarity.

  • The necessity of the ether element or space in relation to the mind and nervous system and how to build it into your day.

  • How our diet and lifestyle can tilt us towards burnout and why that matters.

  • How to identify worry and adrenal fatigue on the face.

  • The role of the eyes as the access point of this tissue.

  • Tips for getting to bed early and how to achieve deeply restorative sleep.

Class 6 — Shukra & Artava Dhatu, The Reproductive Tissues: Vitality, Creativity & Joy

  • The subtle importance and functions of the reproductive system (apart from reproduction).

  • Why depletion here often follows long-term stress and leads to premature aging and weakened immunity.

  • How to identify if these organs are under stress by observing the face and ears.

  • Doshic correlations to menses and/or menopause and how to support those concerns Ayurvedically.

  • How to access joy and the ability to create at any age.

Class 7 — Integration: Samprapti or the Pathology of Dis-ease and How to Interrupt It

  • Introduction to samprapti using the tissues or dhatus that you now understand so well!

  • How imbalance moves from the subtle → gross and always begins in the gastrointestinal tract.

  • Where you are in the pathology of dis-ease and which of your tissues are involved.

  • How to connect different signs and symptoms you experience to the different stages of samprapti.

  • How seasonal cleansing interrupts this process of dis-ease, and how to do it in a way that meets you where you are.

"I am a creature of habit, as are we all. Every year I make plans to give up old habits and start new ones. I always fail, and quickly. It is not just a matter of will. Anyone would tell you I am strong-willed to the point of stubborn. Suzanne gave me a new approach. She helped me to examine my daily routine, embrace my inner clock, and modify my behavior to incorporate new, healthy habits by understanding my personal, physical needs. And Suzanne did not create my new schedule alone, a testament to her loving, giving nature. She also provided me a community of like-minded women who nurtured and encouraged me. Thank you, Suzanne. I can’t wait for the next quarter."

Alex Rice

Alex Rice graduated from the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM as an Ayurvedic Practitioner and began working for AyurPrana right after graduation. It has been one of the greatest blessings of her life to work alongside Dr. Vasant Lad, B.A.M.S., M.A.Sc., world-renowned Ayurvedic physician, author, teacher, and founder of the Ayurvedic Institute, as she supported him in his consultations both in NM and after the move to Asheville, NC. She also assisted him in his webinars and immersions the last six months in ABQ.

Most recently, Alex was the primary onsite practitioner at SoHum Mountain Healing Resort supporting clients before, during and after their panchakarma (PK) experiences, providing initial consultations to non-PK guests, and supporting Dr. Vasant Lad with his PK clients. Meanwhile, she was also seeing her own clients, moderating AyurPrana’s seasonal Home Cleanses, teaching the second year students at the Ayurvedic Institute, and supervising in the Student Clinic.
